J.K. Rowling has been pretty active on Twitter lately. But this afternoon she has dropped a bombshell by announcing a new fairy tale series called The Ickabog to the world, which will be free of charge.

In the above Twitter thread, Rowling reveals she wrote The Ickabog “over 10 years ago”. She goes on to say that she always meant to publish it but decided to release two adult novels after Harry Potter.
Until recently, only Rowling’s two children had heard of The Ickabog, but now the world will get to experience the series free-of-charge online.
The chapters will be published on a cycle, every weekday at 3:00pm starting today.
